As the most common type of walking aid, crutches are surely familiar to everyone. Different users also use crutches in different ways, so how to use crutches correctly for different people?
1 Axillary walking in paraplegic patients
According to the different order of movement of the armpit and feet, it can be divided into:
(1) Walk alternately: drag the left arm stick, then the right arm stick, and drag both feet forward to reach the arm stick.
(2) Mopping and walking at the same time: also known as swing to step, that is, two armpit sticks are extended at the same time, and both feet are dragged forward to reach the vicinity of the armpit.
(3) Four-point walk: extending the left arm stick and stepping out the right foot, extending the right arm stick and stepping out the left foot.
(4) Three-point walking: Now extend the side of the foot with poor muscle strength and the axillary sticks on both sides at the same time, and then extend the foot or foot with better muscle strength on the opposite side.
(5) Two-point walking: one side of the axillary stick is extended to the side foot at the same time, and the remaining axe and foot are extended at the same time.
(6) Swing over steps: swinging to the same step, but keeping your feet on the ground, swinging forward in the air, with large stride and fast speed. Suitable for patients with better torso and upper limb control.
2 Walking with canes in hemiplegic patients
(1) Three-point walking: Most patients stretch out their walking sticks, take their feet, and walk, and a small number of patients stretch out their walking sticks, and walk.
(2) Two-point walk: First extend the cane and the affected foot at the same time, and then take the healthy foot.
